 Greenville, KY- Tickets are now available online for the “Never Forget” Concert featuring national country music acts, Darryl Worley and Andy Griggs planned for Tuesday, September 7th at 8 PM. The Greenville Tourism Commission is honored to present this concert as a part of “Muhlenberg Remembers” a week-long event commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11/2001.

Andy Griggs has 13 singles and 6 Top Tens on the Billboard country chart, 3 #1’s including Bluegrass #1 Georgia Peach” with Larry Sparks, “You Won’t Ever Be Lonely”, “She’s More” and he also had 2 motion picture soundtracks. Darryl Worley has produced 18 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three number ones: “I Miss My Friend”, “Have You Forgotten?”, and “Awful, Beautiful Life”, from 2002, 2003 and 2004–2005, respectively. Nine other singles have reached the top 40. His patriotic song “Have You Forgotten?” written about the events on 9/11, spent seven weeks at number one.

The concert will take place on the front steps of the historic Muhlenberg County Courthouse! For prime concert seating, tickets are available for $15. 100% of the proceeds will benefit our local first responders. Tickets can be purchased online at  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/147602138971. Concert goers and ticket holders should bring their lawn chairs. No coolers or alcohol are allowed at the event.

GATES OPEN AT 6:30 PM. No chairs or ticketholders will be permitted in the reserved area until after that time. You will need to present proof of ticket purchase and ID on arrival at check-in and will be given a wristband that will allow you to come and go from the reserved area. Seating will be on the street and will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Lawn chairs can be placed as early as 6:30 PM CT on Sept. 7th. At the owners’ risk, chairs can be placed and left while ticketholders enjoy dinner, shopping, and exploring Greenville! Many of our eateries and shops will be open for you to eat and shop!

In the event of, or threat of, inclement weather, which includes rain, lightning, or high winds, the safety of the concert-goers, band, and crew will be a top priority. Updates will be shared on the Greenville Tourism Facebook page.

*Please note, the south end of South Main Street will be closed to traffic and will not be ticketed. Concert goers are welcome to set chairs there for free, however, that end of the street has VERY limited views of the stage.

While you are in Greenville that week, be sure to check out the American flag display on the lawn of the Summerhouse, located across the Greenville Elementary. There will be 2,977 American flags placed for each victim of 9/11.

Activities are planned for each night that week. On Wednesday, September 8th they will be hosting “SOAR with First Responders” downtown from 4 PM- 6 PM. Thursday, September 9th is “Red, White, & BOUNCE” at Joe B’s from 4 PM-8 PM. Friday, September 10th the Greenville Fire Department will host the First Annual “Fire in the Hole” Cornhole Tournament on Veteran’s Plaza (time to be announced). Greenville is honored to host the First Annual Tunnel to Towers Western KY 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, September 11th beginning at 8 AM. On Saturday, after the 5K, the Green River Mustangs roll into town for a car show! The car show will be held from 2 PM- 8 PM! Starting at 4 PM enjoy live music on the Plaza, a kids’ bicycle parade hosted by SOAR, a free caricature artist, and bounce inflatables! Once the sun sets, there will be a touching luminary display where the community is invited to bring a candle or tea light to place around the 9/11 Memorial. At 7 PM, we will light the night with two beams of light, symbolizing the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center, in honor of the 2,977 people who perished on September 11th, 2001. There will also be a FREE patriotic fireworks show on Saturday night!
